Mattel have just released a new Barbie range two of which are disabled. Mattel argue that including within their range of Barbie dolls a several versions of those demonstrating disability aid to lessen the isolation that 1 billion disabled people feel in the world by bringing disability up to the forefront of people’s minds and making it more acceptable and ordinary for everybody.
In an article in the Guardian, Mattel explained they have created a whole range of accessibility equipment for the new Barbie’s including prosthetic legs, a ramp, Barbie’s accessible dream house and many other things.
